Oprah & Deepak’s 21-Day Mediation
Let me start of by saying that Mediation is something I am still very much exploring. I came across it as part of my general journey to have a better mental wellbeing – and heard about it from friends, colleagues and fellow bloggers.
As some who has a very stressful job at time and a very busy brain, I find that Mediation is something that really works for me as something that can just help level me or simple put me in a better mental position to battle the day.
As part of my research into Mediation and trying to find a way to learn more on what is mindfulness, who even to mediate, I came across Oprah & Deepak’s 21 Day Mediation Experience. We all know who Oprah is and how spiritual she is, and some of you similar to me, will of heard of Deepak Chopra. He is a leader in new age movement, spirituality, and alternative medicines.
Through the app, on 30th October 2017 they offered a free 21-day mediation experience – Making Every Moment Count.
Each day you got a new guided mediation. It would start with Oprah speaking on that day’s theme, and then Deepak who would then go on to guide you with a daily centering thought and mantra. Then you would do a 10 minute mediation. In total was about 20 minutes daily. The themes ranging from awareness, finding your flow, balancing life, finding fulfilment and changing your perception of time into the now.
It really helped to focus my mind in the morning, and I consciously made time to be still for twenty minutes – there is no excuse. I am definitely better at quietening my mind when I mediate now, compared to when I began, but still very much a beginner still on the journey. Nevertheless, I now know that you need to make each moment count and try to live in the present as then life is endless without fear or regrets.
