Apple and Pear Breakfast Bowl
This recipe is something that I have been experimenting with for a while now after getting inspiration from the Forks Over Knives – Apple Lemon Breakfast Bowl.
It is a very simple breakfast but is very refreshing way to start the day, and very versatile that you can easily mix up the flavours to your preference. You can eat it on it own, or do as I have here and put it on top of a nice yoghurt.
1 Green or Red Medium Apple*
1 Conference Pear *
1 tsp of Ground cinnamon
1/2 Juice of a Lemon
6g of Cashew Nuts
7g of Walnuts
3g of Flaxseed/Linseed
Optional: 1 tsp of Peanut Butter to Top
Substitutes: You can use any nuts of seeds that you want. Is also great with almonds, pecans and sunflower seeds. You can also add in a bit of protein power to get another morning boost.
Method: Just put all your ingredients into a small blender until well combined. You need everything shredded but the final consistency is up to you, you may prefer to keep a bit of texture or to make closer to a smoothie bowl.
* preferable it be best to get these organic as you are eating the entire fruit.
